Lets Get Clean

Okay girls you've heard that you should always start with a clean canvas so why apply makeup to a dirty face?

Makeup needs the proper background for the perfect look.

  • Wash hands before touching your face.
  • Cleanse at least twice a day, preferably in the morning and before bedtime.  Sleeping in makeup only clogs your pores!
  • Use a non stripping cleanser that does not leave your skin dry.
  • Massage gently, never rub or pull on skin.
  • Inspect your skin after cleansing so you notice any changes-good or bad.
  • Moisturize and use a sunscreen.
  • Discontinue use of any product that causes irritation, redness or burning.
  • Don't forget your makeup tools!  They should be washed daily or at a minimum of once a week.  Brushes should be laid flat to dry.

Applying Opalima Mineral Foundation

Base Notes is a lightweight foundation that evens and perfects your complexion.  Use a fluffy brush for light application or a dense kabuki or flat top brush for medium to heavy coverage.  Shake a small amount into a clean dish or pallet, swirl into brush and apply by brushing onto face.  No "buffing" is required.  Reapply another light layer if desired.  For a heavier consistency try mixing with your favorite moisturizer.

Applying Opalima Mineral Primers

Our Bamboo Silk Primers offer something for everyone.  The finishing primer is for normal and sensitive skins. The oil control primer is for very oily skin and the primer #2 is for combination skin or dry skin types with slight oil production.  The primer #2 helps the skin retain moisture and leaves a velvety smooth surface to work with.  It may also be a nice option for oily skin types during colder weather.  We still recommend using a sunscreen under your primer.

Applying Opalima Mineral Eyeshadows

Opalima eye shades are rich and long wearing.  With a few simple steps you can achieve a stunning look.  We recommend you use a flat rounded eyeshadow brush for best results.  Choose a small or large size depending on the size of your eyelid.

Shake a small amount of mineral powder onto a small dish or palette.  Take your brush and press the flat end onto the color to pick it up.  Pat the color onto your lid.  Start with a small amount then reapply until you attain the desired intensity.  You can also use this brush to apply the lightest shade to your brow area. Use a crease brush (usually slightly pointed at the tip) to apply a darker color to your crease.  Blend lightly with a blending brush so you don't see a demarcation line.

For more intense color.  Add a few drops of purified or distilled water to the minerals.  Do not add water to the original container or lid, you don't want to introduce bacteria to your makeup container.  Use another dish that you can wash afterwards.  Apply to your lid the same way.  Allow to dry and then blend with a blending brush.

Applying Opalima Mineral Blush

Opalima mineral blushes are highly pigmented so alittle goes a long way!  Shake out a small amount onto a blending dish and swirl with blush brush.  Sweep from top of cheekbone near the temple down to where the edge of your eye begins.  Lightly apply a second layer if needed.
